Well, that didn't take long. The Voice of America reports that the Chinese Panchen Lama has concluded his public-relations visit to Labrang monastery and Gansu province, and he and his security detail probably are headed back to Beijing.
Xinhua, the Chinese government's news agency, released a statement saying the lama expressed satisfaction with the degree of religious freedom enjoyed by people in the region. Whether the ethnic Tibetans of Gansu province are satisfied, Xinhua doesn't say.
