News stories from the Philippines after typhoon Haiyan are relentlessly  terrible. Michael Aquino, Guide to Southeast Asian Travel, has put together a list of relief agencies collecting donations for the survivors. Add to that one more -- the Tzu Chi Foundation of the Philippines is preparing to begin relief efforts as soon as possible.

Tzu Chi is the Buddhist relief organization founded by Dharma Master Cheng Yen, a Buddhist nun, and headquartered in Taiwan. Mike Adams of Natural News recently endorsed Tzu Chi -- "While we can't go there and help in person, we know that the Tzu Chi Foundation is probably the best rescue organization on the planet. Nearly 100% of all donations go straight to victims in the form of food, blankets, emergency medicine and basic lifesaving supplies."Click here to find out how to give to the Philippine effort directly, or go to the main Tzu Chi Foundation donation page.
