Buddhist Temple Bombed in Jakarta Aug 7th 2013, 21:55 A Buddhist temple serving an ethnic Chinese population in Jakarta was bombed this week. The bomb slightly injured three people and did little damage. What was alarming is that the bombers left a note saying, "We respond to the screams of the I fear this is the beginning of worse things to come. Of course, it's ridiculous to blame a Chinese Mahayana community for something done by Burmese Theravadins. But this is how bigotry works. It's no better to blame all Muslims for what a few do. A month ago, bombs damaged the Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya, thought to be the site of the Buddha's enlightenment. Investigators still are not sure who is responsible.
