Since this has been art week, let's have a fall haiku challenge (or spring, for those of you Down Under). Here's mine:
A cormorant dips
Into the pond; the floating
Yellow leaves bobble.
You don't have to stick with the five-seven-five syllable rule if it gets in the way. However, a Zen haiku should say something about nature and the season, and it should bring the reader into a single, present moment. No past or future; no metaphors or analogies. Read more about the rules of writing Zen haiku. Now, your turn!
