Nuns of Nepal Embrace Assaulted Sister
Aug 4th 2011, 10:37

The Indo-Asian News Service reports that nuns in Napal have come forward to care for the young nun who was gang raped nearly two months ago.

In particular, Ani Choying Drolma, a nun and popular singer, has taken the assaulted nun into her own Arya Tara School so that she can be sheltered and healed. Officials of Nepal's National Women's Commission and other NGOs escorted the still-traumatized nun to Arya Tara after her release from the hospital on Tuesday.

Choying and others are also lobbying Nepal's politicians and criminal justice officials to be sure the men accused of the crime face the full penalty of law.
